Migros Group

Idhéa was created in 2014, from the merger between two companies in Alsace: La Case aux Épices and Saveurs & Sauces (Find out more). In 2016, the Swiss retail group Migros became interested in our lovely company, for its versatility and expertise in sauces. Idhéa then joined the manufacturing branch of the group, Migros Industrie. Since 2019, Idhéa has been the producer of the various Migros brands of cold sauces marketed in Switzerland.

Who is Migros?

The Migros Group has its roots in Switzerland. Its story goes back to 1925 and the vision of two entrepreneurs, Gottlieb and Adele Duttweiler. This couple was full of innovative ideas and a strong sense of social responsibility. It all began with the launch of a network of mobile truck shops in the canton of Zurich.

100 years later, the Migros Group is made up of 10 cooperatives and represents 37% of the Swiss food market. It is a conglomerate of companies specialised in the retail sector. In addition, the group is involved in manufacturing, with its own production sites. And it is also active in the services sector (restaurants, fitness centres, press, banking and insurance, real estate agencies and travel agencies).

In 2019, Migros was once again recognised as the most environmentally friendly retailer in the world. Behind this recognition lies a philosophy and commitment that existed from the very foundations of the Group. Sustainability is an integral part of the Group’s strategy.
